Tivo Alert: k.d. lang on Logo's NewNowNext Music
(Getty Images) It's funny to look back at the gay '90s (1990s, that is) and reflect on just how big k.d. lang and Melissa Etheridge were back then. As two pioneering gay female singers, they were everywhere, from winning Grammys and hangin' with Brad & Gwyneth (then Brad & Jen...hmmm, is Brad keeping Angie away from Melissa?), to getting a shave from Cindy Crawford on that iconic cover of Vanity Fair.
And while we've all been able to keep tabs on Melissa over the years (for better or for worse), k.d. has been a little lower-profile. So it's exciting news to hear that not only is she coming out with a new album, Watershed, but she'll be hosting Logo's awesome NewNowNext Music on Sunday Feb.3 at midnight ET/PT.
And if you've missed k.d. like I have, you'll not want to miss her performing some of her new material live. Her voice is like buttah, and I just look at her and imagine it's Tobey Maguire singing to me, so it's a win/win all around.
So set your Tivos, show your support for k.d. and break out the Zimas - you'll feel like it's 1997 all over again!
