Calpernia's patient lesson...

Calperina (Getty Image) She's hot, she's sexy -- and she's letting everyone know once and for all what questions you should never, ever ask a Trans person.  Calpernia Addams (looking more stunning than ever, if that's possible) has made a truly funny video where she outlines the insane questions she gets from people all the time.

DVD Alert: A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila

Tequila1 I was literally the only guy I knew that watched A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila (out on DVD April 15th)start-to-finish. It's a weakness I have: once I start a show, I have to see it through because I have already picked the winners and losers in my mind...and I have to know if I'm right!

Top Chef: God I'm Good

Top_chef_judge Sorry, but I can't help but congratulate myself: I called Erik's dismissal in last week's post, and we got another, deeper glimpse into Andrew's borderline personality.  I am so in tune with reality tv now...I should probably just hop on a fishing boat to Alaska and detox...actually, that sounds like a reality show...

Although, really, anybody watching the last three episodes should've tagged Erik as the loser for this episode. Between the quickfires and the challenges, I think all six of his dishes looked like hell, and the decision to make corn dogs the night before was so...dumb. I can't believe that his team let him proceed with those.  Plus, Erik wore the expression that he was in over his head in every episode; the judges couldn't deny that truth any longer. I know some of you will miss this big lug, but he was just not my cup of tea.

ANTM: Tyra Out?

Cndy_crawfored (Getty Images) Reports are swirling that Tyra Banks is set to leave the judging table on America's Next Top Model. Seems she and Jay Manuel had the mother of all catfights, and Banks - who's recently, inexplicably found herself interviewing presidential candidates on her talk show - is above it all.

Isn't it her show? And couldnt' she fire Manuel if he was gettin' all up in her face? I suspect this is a way to drive up the show's declining ratings, and get old viewers back. Or Tyra has outgrown the CW-crowd, and is cutting ties with projects - and people - that might hold her back from becoming the next Oprah. The question is, if she leaves, and frankly, good riddance - who should replace her?

Why Battlestar Galactica Matters to You

Bsg1 I get this look from people when I tell them I watch sci-fi television. It’s a sympathetic look, as if they can envision me home on a Saturday night reciting Yoda’s teachings or downloading nude fan art of William Shatner. But the worse is when you tell people you’re a gay sci-fi fan.

They automatically assume you vicariously live through outlandish characters with funny names like “hobbit” because you feel ostracized from a world that condemns you. Don’t get me wrong, I get it. Sci-fi television is hard to break into and to the casual TV viewer, stories about time traveling, intergalactic battles, and aliens can seem daunting. So when a show like Battlestar Galactica surfaces, scoring Emmy nominations and high praises from Time Magazine and Rolling Stone, the question is inevitably “why?”

"L Word" Observations....

Shane If you missed the season five finale of "The L Word," here's a quick rundown:  Helena came back and saved the Planet for Kit; Bette and Tina danced slowly into the sunset; Alice found a new love interest in the form of the now gorgeous actress from "Heavenly Creatures";  Adele got her way with "Lez Girls" and had her way with Karina/Marina, and Shane committed the number one cardinal sin by getting it on with her best friends girlfriend.

Not exactly blockbuster stuff, but it was at least a semi-satisfying ending to arguably the strongest season since season one.

And let's face it -- we certainly deserved a good season.  After all, sticking out “The L Word” since the end of the first year has been like being stuck in a dysfunctional lesbian relationship, with us being the loser girlfriend who sticks around no matter how bad things get.  And could our girlfriend have been any more of a bitch?

Tivo Alert: Kylie All Week!

Beach Look what the Easter Bunny brought us, boys and...girls! None other than the FABULOUS Kylie Minogue will be hitting our airwaves in a media onslaught to promote her highly-anticipated album, X. Finally, finally, finally!

(And if I may, I really do mean the word "finally" in it's truest possible form.  Can someone please explain the logical reasoning behind the decision to keep delaying the domestic release of this CD for like, I don't know, three or four months?  Look, I'm not a marketing expert, but if I recall, we Kylie fans were in such a frenzy back in December, we would have happily paid twice as much for "X"...)

But back to Kylie herself -- she's coming to the US television this week, so get your TiVo's ready...

Zak's Opinion: "Lost" is Lazy

Lost_hot_guys_2_2 Having finally watched last week's episode of "Lost", only one word comes to my mind about the outing of Mr. Friendly: lazy.

Lazy, because "Lost" had three full seasons to introduce an LGBT character, and they decided to do so only now. Then again, maybe I shouldn't be surprised: remember when "Lost" was lauded for its diverse cast? Before the Skajaju love decahedron relegated Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim, and Naveen Andrews to almost guest-star status? Yeah, I miss them yonder days too.

Quick bit: Gay "Gossip Girl"

It's Monday morning and this new gay "Gossip Girl" news has already made my week.  No -- the gay rumors about Chase Crawford have not been confirmed, but this is almost as good.  TV Guide online is reporting that a gay male character from "Gossip Girl" will be "revealed to be of the gay persuasion" when the show returns in April.

They won't reveal which character, but who can I call to make it Chase?
