An Emmy nom for Van!

Van_hansis Van Hansis, who plays one half of everyone's favorite gay soap opera couple Nuke on "As The World Turns," has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy (Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series) for his turn as Luke Snyder.

This news makes it a perfect time to call parent company Procter & Gamble Productions and tell them you love the storyline. P&G actually set up the hotline in response to the anti-gay American Family Association's protest of the gay couple -- but with Nuke fans' support and an Emmy nom, we don't think the boys are going anywhere. Call 1-800-331-3774 to express your support.

Here's hoping the show will celebrate with another kiss.

Paula Abdul Loses Grip on Reality...Again

Paula_2 Paula Abdul, you're forever my girl.

But Paula Abdul and live TV—not a good combination.

Did anyone else see last night's American Idol? The format was different than usual. Each contestant sang a Neil Diamond song to start off the show, going one after another without the usual judges' critiques interrupting the flow. Then they all stood onstage together to face the judges' criticism after everyone had performed.

Ellen, Rosie & Colbert on Miley

Ellen_5_2 I know Obama said he wouldn't debate Hillary again, but now that this whole Miley Cyrus scandal has broken wide open..don't they owe it to us to let us know where they stand on the most pressing issue of the day??

I know, I've just about had it with this too. Frankly, the only people to blame are her parents, and considering who her father is and how he wore his hair 15 years ago, is anyone really surprised?

Gale Harold Shakes Up Desperate Housewives

Gale_harold If, like me, you are a huge fan of Queer As Folk's Gale Harold, you will be thrilled to hear that the actor has booked a potentially recurring role on Desperate Housewives, according to TV Guide's Michael Ausiello.

Ausiello reports that Harold, who recently guest-starred as a white supremacist on Grey's Anatomy, will first appear in Desperate Housewives' May 18 season finale as "a quick-witted, charming and buttoned-down suburbanite," and he could be back next season.

Griffin Kills at GLAAD Awards

Kathy3_2 The inimitable Kathy Griffin basked in the love and adulation of "her gays" when her Bravo series My Life on the D-List won Outstanding Reality Show at the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which were presented in Hollywood over the weekend.

Ever fearless, Griffin took the opportunity to needle American Idol host Ryan Seacrest at the event, with a little help from her mom Maggie. According to People.com, Griffin invited her mother to join her onstage, then asked, "Mom, who's the gayest-looking person in the room tonight?"

"Is Ryan Seacrest here?" her mother replied.

Details Of Oprah's Cruise Interview Leak Out

Tom_cruise Marc Malkin of E! Online apparently had some spies at this weekend's Las Vegas taping of Oprah Winfrey's interview with icons Tina Turner and Cher because he has the scoop on the daytime diva's highly-anticipated interview with Tom Cruise.

According to Malkin's E! Online blog, Oprah got chatty with the studio audience at the Caesars Palace taping of the Turner and Cher interviews and couldn't resist revealing that she has already taped the first part of a two-part interview with Cruise during which he answers questions about Scientology and his battle over the merits of psychiatry and psychiatric drugs on Today with Matt Lauer.

Trash Talkin' "A Baller" Wins Big Brother

Adam_big_bro Who could have ever predicted that Adam "A Baller" Jasinski, the loudmouth who seemed like an early goner at the outset of Big Brother 9: 'Til Death Do Us Part, would emerge from the house last night as the show's winner?

Adam won the votes of all of the jury members, with the exception of openly gay Joshuah Welch who gave his vote to runner-up Ryan Quicksall.

Meanwhile, "Crazy" James Zinkand, who romanced Chelsia Hart and did not speak of his gay porn past on the show, clearly won over America, taking home the $25,000 America's Vote prize.

Military Men and Women on "Carrier"

Carrier I'm sitting down to write out a review of Friday night's "Battlestar Galactica" and last night's "is she a Walker or isn't she" non-surprise on "Brothers & Sisters".  But I stayed up late to watch the first installment of PBS's new documentary series "Carrier" and that's really all I want to write about.

I've never spent that much time thinking about the intricacies of military life and I don't know if it's because I've always known that the armed forces aren't for me or because I'm gay. I've just never thought about it really. I recognize that thousands of men and women protect us every day, and I'm very thankful for it, but truthfully I have no idea just how it all works.

Kevin and Scotty Sneak Peek!

Kevinscottyabc Fans of ABC's "Brothers & Sisters" are certainly aware of Kevin (Matthew Rhys) and Scotty's (Luke MacFarlane) tumultuous relationship. Well, there are big goings on starting with this Sunday's episode and concluding on the season finale on May 11.

For those of you who want to remain surprised and spoiler free, do not continue on to the jump. For everyone else, here is a sneak peek at what is in store.

Top Chef: Lesbians Need Not Apply

Top_chef_jennifer Within the space of two weeks, Top Chef has successfully purged its kitchen of (out) lesbians. Jenn, the more talented half of TC's first gay couple/contenstants, was eliminated last night after improvising an homage to erections out of asparagus and goat cheese.  OK, so that may shed light on some personal issues, but I'm not convinced she should've been sent packing.
