An Emmy nom for Van!
Van Hansis, who plays one half of everyone's favorite gay soap opera couple Nuke on "As The World Turns," has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy (Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series) for his turn as Luke Snyder.
This news makes it a perfect time to call parent company Procter & Gamble Productions and tell them you love the storyline. P&G actually set up the hotline in response to the anti-gay American Family Association's protest of the gay couple -- but with Nuke fans' support and an Emmy nom, we don't think the boys are going anywhere. Call 1-800-331-3774 to express your support.
Here's hoping the show will celebrate with another kiss.

Thanks for the information. I'm happy for him. I hope he gets the award. I'll definitely call. Any representation is much better than none at all.

Wow! That is great to read. I have always been a big fan of "As The World Turns" and just like many in the gay community I was quite disappointed with the direction the storyline for Luke & Noah relationship was taking on the show. I hope the writers will come to realize that a loving gay storyline is no longer as taboo as it once was in daytime TV. I will certainly do what I can to help him win.

I am a gay right-wing, conservative Christian Republican who is both opposed to gay marriage and to gay relationships on TV. I think gay marriage is an abomination to the sanctity of heterosexual marriage, and I think that gay relationships on TV send the wrong message to the American public, that it's okay to be blatantly homosexual. Although I feel that I have a right to be gay, not in public and not at the expense of morality. Also, I supported the Clinton Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy because I think it's immoral for gay people to speak out about their being gay and if they do, they have given up their rights as Americans. Okay, people, this is a joke, but perhaps those gays who think like this will now see themselves for how they come across to those of us who don't.

FINALLY a real gay kiss... that's why I could NOT stand "Will & Grace" (WILL never got any action, well NO real action) maybe that show should've been "On a bender with Jack & Karen"!!!)
