Paula Abdul Loses Grip on Reality...Again

Paula_2 Paula Abdul, you're forever my girl.

But Paula Abdul and live TV—not a good combination.

Did anyone else see last night's American Idol? The format was different than usual. Each contestant sang a Neil Diamond song to start off the show, going one after another without the usual judges' critiques interrupting the flow. Then they all stood onstage together to face the judges' criticism after everyone had performed.

Let me stress: They each sang one song at the outset.

Jason Castro, the dread-headed dude who has been in a downward spiral the last few weeks yet remains in the competition (fess up if you Gay.com readers are voting for this minimally talented yet gorgeous simpleton to stay on the show), started off with a lame interpretation of Diamond's "Forever in Blue Jeans."

But Abdul apparently heard something different, critiquing not one but two of Castro's performances, telling him she felt like his usual charm wasn't there on the second tune. "It was missing for me," she said. "It kind of left me a little empty."

Again, Castro hadn't performed his second song of the night yet.

An uncomfortable moment ensued. Audience members scratched their heads, the contestants looked perplexed, and host Ryan Seacrest likely wondered, "What dimension does this woman live in?"

It was up to Abdul's fellow judge Randy Jackson to tell her that she had been hallucinating.

Okay, he wasn't that blunt. Jackson kindly pointed out that Castro had only sung once so far that evening, leaving Abdul flustered, and everyone else shaking their heads.

That said, maybe we are all being too hard on Abdul. If anything, she just may possess the ability to see into the future because her premature feedback on Castro's second performance—a painfully lifeless version of "September Morn"—turned out to be right on, 100 percent accurate and straight up.

Csi CSI Star Arrested For Drug Possession
Just a couple of weeks ago, it was announced that Gary Dourdan, the seriously smoking hot guy who plays Warrick Brown on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, was leaving the show at the end of this season, although no one was too specific about what was prompting his departure.

Now we might have an inkling after seeing his mug shot all over the Internet.

It was taken yesterday after Dourdan was arrested on suspicion of possessing a multitude of drugs, including cocaine, ecstasy and heroin.

As the story goes, according to a number of news reports, the 41-year-old actor was found dozing in a car in Palm Springs, California. A cop checked out the car because it was parked on the wrong side of the street, and the interior light was on. Dourdan, the car's sole inhabitant, appeared to be disoriented and possibly under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Drugs as well as drug paraphernalia were found in the car, police report, and Dourdan was arrested. He sat in jail for about five hours before he got out on bail.

No word on when the soon-to-be former CSI star will have his day in court.
