Kathy Griffin Goes From "D-List" To "A-List"
I don't know about you, but I think Kathy Griffin and Anderson Cooper make a great couple.
Last night's premiere of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List took us behind-the-scenes as Kathy hosted CNN's Times Square New Year's Eve coverage with the silver fox. "This is my first step toward getting my Pulitzer Prize for my hard hitting take on 2007… and Britney's crotch… and how it affects the Middle East," Kathy declared in an interview before the big gig.
Later, one of her assistants asked her if she was going to kiss Anderson when the ball dropped.
"I'm going to kiss him… on the balls," Kathy replied.
By the way, did anyone else wonder if Kathy had to agree not to make any gay cracks about Anderson to land the CNN gig? She didn't go there at all—either on or off air.
Anderson really did seem like a nice guy in the behind-the-scenes footage we saw of him chatting with Kathy and Team Griffin before and after their co-hosting job.
I loved it when Kathy asked him off air what he thought of Bill O'Reilly.
Anderson said the Fox News personality is "very talented at what he does."
Disappointed by Anderson's political correctness, Kathy quipped that he had lost his balls.
Who talks to Anderson like that?
Oh yeah, Kathy does, and you've got to love her for it.
It was actually all Kathy, Kathy, Kathy on Bravo last night with the premiere of My Life on the D-List, then Bravo's A-List Awards, which Kathy hosted. And while I loved, loved, loved seeing a new episode of My Life on the D-List, I could barely stay awake during the lame-o A-List Awards.
Let me say that Kathy was a great host. She was truly the only reason I kept watching. Her quick-change bit where she stripped down to her bra and panties—revealing the duct tape she used to push up her boobs—was priceless; I loved her Justin/Janet parody with Lance Bass; and she didn't have to say a word after Tila Tequila won the A-List Reality Drama Queen Award to let us know what she was thinking.
But despite appearances from gay faves including Margaret Cho, Tim Gunn and Project Runway designer Christian Serrano, this sad excuse for an awards show was an over-hyped bore with a capital B.

ENOUGH. Kathy Griffin is NOT even remotely interesting. If you want to feature a "drag Queen" at least have the courtesy of using a MALE drag performer.

What Award show ISN'T super boring. I usually tape them to fast forward through all the garbage to see who won. But Kathy Griffin as host! You know she was the best thing on that show.

I loved the show. The awards were pretty lame ( best restaurant? huh???) but Kathy really kept it going. If the show gets a couple of years under its belt, it should eventually be fun. And Kathy is a MUST as host.

OK, first thing first, I love to watch Kathy Giffin's shows. She's way too funny and she's a great host. Now, this is the thing I'd have to give a two thumbs down: her Justin/Janet parody with Lance Bass!
Janet's wardrobe malfunction incident was an accident (to me and to most viewers), but Kathy Griffin's incident of revealing her boobs was clearly way too intentional; plus her ripping off Lance Bass's pants and showing his black underwear - come on Kathy, you're funny enough, you don't have to put out that whole act just to get audience attention; plus, this is a gay show, who (the gays) haven't seen a guy's underwear? If Kathy Griffin really wants to shock the audience (just like Justin/Janet did), then she got to shock the audience twice the voltage by ripping off Lance Bass's pants and revealing his penis (apparently not wearing the underwear) instead of the black undwerwear. Bottom line for this, I got to shake my head and give a two dumbs down for this. Another thing about the show is that my impression of the purpose of the award show is for those shows broadcast on Bravo TV. But the Tila Tequila's show wasn't on Bravo! It was on MTV. If the A-list show was also for other non-Bravo shows, then it'd be an added fun and excitment to include other huge reality shows, like the world famous Tyre Bank's America's Next Top Model show, for example. Bottom line for this: I think the A-List award show is just another excuse to show off Kathy Giffin's talents. But again, I love Kathy Griffin, I think you're a bomb!

The Janet "malfunction" was not an accident and anyone who believes that is insane lol. It was all about publicity and anyone with a half a brain would realize that, the fact that they blamed each other afterwards then changed the story 2 or 3 times doesn't help the cause either lol.
Kathy was great as host of this show, here "dead to me" segment was funny as hell. I love her and think she's great, the awards themselves were a joke but it was nice to be able to show Kathy off a bit more after the premiere of D list.
