Anderson Talks "Leatha" & Trashes Lohans
The Silver Fox bared his claws today on "Live with Regis & Kelly" and I am LOVING IT! He does a killa impression of rock & roll Stella from "Project Runway" and then launches into a diatribe against "Living Lohan" like it's personal...did Dina Lohan spill her cosmo on his John Lobb loafers or something?
Actually, it's very refreshing to hear a celeb talk like a "civilian" about one of his own; he couldn't contain his disgust. It's classic, as are poor Kelly's attempts to contain him. She actually does a decent job, pointing out the dichotomous nature of a man who braves the world's war zones only to veg out to cheesy reality tv programming. Stick with the clip; it gets a tad tedious toward the middle, but Coop shoots out a zinger right at the very end.
Love it !!!... Andy u rock, love u.

Anderson Cooper is the BEST! He is such a nice guy, talented journalist, and a Sexy Guy. Maybe Regis should retire to other things like Game Shows and let Anderson Cooper run like a FOX!

Oh, Anderson!!!! Speaking the truth in such a FOXY way!!! Doesnt anyone else find this man DELECTABLE?!?!? I do!
Posted by: Wil | August 06, 2008 at 10:16 AM
Anderson ... gay has gone main stream! ... Here is a gay guy that we all know is in the club but has not made an issue of it! He just works ... in the Gore Vidal tradition. The need to identify sexual identity is truly a class issue. Big difference to deny than to just be silent. Go Coop!
Posted by: FellowFit | August 06, 2008 at 10:34 AM
One has to love that!!! Finally an intelligent person not wrapped up into the silliness of reality tv! You rock COOP!
Posted by: Doug C | August 06, 2008 at 10:38 AM
Move over Regis. I don't much watch daytime TV (or reality TV)but I'd actually tune it to watch Anderson talk about stuff like this. He seemed more natural and unrehearsed than the guy that does the "Talk Soup" show (which rehases reality TV and daytime TV). Now, if I notice that Anderson will be on shows other than CNN I will definately DVR it. AND he is so sexy!!!

this guy anderson is so gay i always knew it. is he out of th closet yet?

Woah. a man depicted on gay.com who is INTELLIGENT, articulate, charming AND over 25... Will the world stop?
Posted by: Harley_Daddy@gay.com | August 06, 2008 at 04:07 PM
Oh please. I can't stand this phony. Appearing on every talk show and discussing EVERY mundane aspect of his life like what he buys at william sonoma to decorate his kitchen. Except he will never mention that he shares his kitchen with a MAN! Anderson is a coward for sitting there beside Dippy Rippa and being dishonest about who he is and who he loves! Stop acting like this guy is some hero because he's articulate and good looking, so what? So is Sean Hannity. Guys like Anderson do even more damage to us than the Hannitys because at least we know what Hannity is all about. Does anyone know what Anderson Cooper is all about? I certainly don't. He could be a card carrying GAY Republican for all we know. And excuse me FellowFit, we all DON'T know he's in 'the club' because Anderson is too much of a wussy to stand up and say he is! Look at how many gay teens Anderson, Ryan Seacrest, Wentworth Miller, and Chace Crawford could be saving if they stopped living on the downlow. And I know I'm gonna be ripped apart just like Perez Hilton is by all you closet-enablers. Well, so be it. Stop being shallow and excusing inexcusable behavior from a guy because he's HOT.

This is not gay dot com (technically.) Gay dot com had a link to here. Things 'll keep on turning, as usual. lol

>Stop acting like this guy is some hero because he's articulate and good looking, so what? So is Sean Hannity.
I may have been pushing the truth a little in my previous post about this not being gay dot com (it is a different doman name,) but I feel completely confident in saying that Sean Hannity is in no way attractive or articulate. Every time I look at him I think Tom Ridge minus Ridge's wonderful sense of humor in coming up with the color coded turrur alert system...in other words, a real lunkhead.

OMG, Wentworth Miller is gay???
Posted by: Ray_ATL | August 07, 2008 at 10:40 PM
Love the Coop!!! He is handsome and he is intelligent. If he is gay and decides to share that with the world, that's his business. Sorry, bitter ones, but just because he is a public figure does not mean he owes you or anyone else entre into his private life. As far as the clip goes, hilarious and dead on. "Living Lohan" is a travesty. Kudos to Cooper for eviscerating it. By all accounts, he is a nice, down to earth guy. I know that just bugs the crap out of people like RYAN but that's why those of us without a stick up our ass like him. It's refreshing to see a guy who clearly knows his stuff when it comes to news and world affairs is also able to kick back and dish on current TV series. He was equally funny and charming when he appeared on "My Life on the D List" this season. Watching him remind Kathy Griffin that CNN does not have a seven second delay and doing it to (gently) encourage her to be controversial was priceless.
Posted by: Ron H. | August 07, 2008 at 10:54 PM
One other thing RYAN: since you are so passionate about "saving gay teens" can you please tell me how your angry tirade will do anything positive toward that end? By your logic, everyone should be dragged out of the closet kicking and screaming regardless of their circumstances. You clearly have some anger, though it is likely misplaced. Rather than whining about Anderson Cooper and blaming him for all that is wrong in Gay World, start by looking in the mirror and pointing the fickle finger of blame there first. Try taking stock in what drives your obsession with outing people and your need to viciously demonize anyone who does not share your shallow world view. Once you clear up that tangled mess, we can talk about your attraction to Sean Hannity. That's really scary.

I'm going to have to reply to Harley_daddy's comment with. The only people that are hurting the gay communities causes are the ones that insist on making their sexuality the focal points for there entire existence. What good is the leather daddies, running around barely clothed, or the folks that think because somebody doesn't kiss their ass they are homophobes doing for this community. Here we have a positive role model that everyone knows it gay but decides that is his business, and whomever he decides to spend his life with, he needs to make no public announcement about it and I think that if a few more gay men and lesbian women would take this stance we would be able to further our cause a great deal more in the future.

I have white hair and Anderson has white hair. We should be together for sure, but I think there is about a 30 yr age difference. Oh wait what does that matter? Theres 30 yrs between my current partner and I alarady. Anderson, if we ever find ourselves alone at the same time lets get married. Oh and Living Lohan only shows what show biz moms are really like, disgusting.

Anderson is always so fun when he sits in for Regis. A very different side gets shown. I watched this and loved every dishy second of it!

Anderson Cooper is the most gorgeous man on t.v. If you need someone to take care of you Andy, I am available for the job. You are so HOT. I love you.....

Thank you Johnwright1978. Trying to force someone to come out when they're not ready or just dont want to is just classless. I think the pride parades with people that dress up in leather, drag, or some other ridiculous outfit hurts us more than people like Anderson Cooper staying silent. Now if that's how you live your daily life kudos ( I love a good Dragshow) ! But for pride be you , why dress in drag or leather if your a lawyer, save the costumes for Holloween. Show the world who YOU are, be yourself and stop worrying about poor Coop. Especially if your over a certain age.

Oh Ron H., did you seriously just accuse me of having a "shallow world view" after YOUR post concerned Living Lohan/My Life On the D List/and Kathy frickin' Griffin?!? Lemme guess, Ron. You're a 50-something, Republican/Libertarian gym-freak with a macho-job and the same 'stache you've had since the late-70s...but your worst nightmare that still makes you wake up screaming in a cold sweat is that your religiously-devout elderly parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, co-workers (and maybe your wife and kids, too) will someday find out Uncle Ron is a big HOMO! Did I come close to it? Now why don't you and those like you living in the tangled mess of LIES that is your existence point that finger back at yourselves and examine the truth behind your obsession to keep others in the same bondage that is the CLOSET.

>>"Here we have a positive role model that everyone knows it gay but decides that is his business, and whomever he decides to spend his life with, he needs to make no public announcement about it..."
Johnwright1978, please try telling this garbage to Thomas Roberts, TR Knight, Ellen Degeneres and Neil Patrick Harris. These people are the real heroes for making a PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT about it. Then and only THEN could they get on with living and no longer made a daily issue of being gay (have you ever heard Ellen shove her gayness in her audience's face since 1997?), because the whole world knew and accepted them anyway. But FIRST it was very important that they had the courage to admit who they were and risk that the Kelly Rippas of the world (their conservative suburban soccer-mom fans) might not like them anymore. And for sure, some didn't. But many more loved them anyway! Life is about taking a risk and going for it and accepting the consequences of living honestly! But Anderson Cooper is a coward and is terrified his delusional fan-girls (who nightly wet their panties over him) will boycott his show and CNN will fire him. This is especially sad and frustrating in his case because to whom much is given much is required. This man is an heir to a fortune and wouldn't lose a dime if his career ended.
>>"he needs to make no public announcement about it and I think that if a few more gay men and lesbian women would take this stance we would be able to further our cause a great deal more in the future..."
I am truly thankful gays with complexes like yours weren't running the movement back in 1969. We would be back in the 1950s if you had your way.

You know, my day-to-day life doesn't depend on whether or not middle America knows or accepts Anderson Cooper or Ryan Seacrest as being gay. Does yours? Oops.
Anderson is snuggly.

WOW! I guess I was raised wrong because I was raised to believe that role models are people like teachers, nurses, firemen & women, and those people who give of themselves on a daily basis without looking for recognition whether they are gay or straight. I believe the low self esteem of gay teens has less to do with the undisclosed sexuality of television personalities and more to do with the fact that many don't identify and have a hard time relating to the "gay" lifestyle of trivialness and superficiality. The fact is that some gay teens aren't into fashion, celebrity gossip, interior design, nor are they so worried about hitting the gym every day to make sure they have 6 pack abs and a sculptured upper body. I don't believe that's all to being gay but when that's all you see not just from the mainstream media but more importantly the "gay" media outlets as well, what are teens suppose to think? I applaud people who realize that their sexuality is just a part of who they are not a measure of who they are. That it is possible to live a fulfilling, rewarding, and happy life for which being "gay" is not the focus and until we get young gay people to understand that same concept they will continue to have difficulty adjusting no matter how many stars "out" themselves. I say this as a parent of a gay teen who has had trouble reconciling who he is as a gay person with what he thinks he supposed to be as a gay person!
