David Duchovny Enters Sex Rehab Facility, Is Michael Phelps Verging On Overexposure?, Tim Gunn Analyzes Jennifer Aniston's Fashion
(Getty Images) David Duchovny has checked into a rehab facility where he is being treated for sex addiction.
Talk about art imitating life. Actually, I should say, talk about life imitating art. The actor plays Hank Moody, a sexually promiscuous novelist on the Showtime series Californication, which kicks off its second season on September 28.
As those of you who watched the first season of Californication know, the show is pretty racy. Remember the first episode's dream sequence? The one where a nun performs oral sex on Hank?
"I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family," the 48-year-old Duchovny said through a statement released to the Associated Press and other media outlets.
Duchovny is married to actress Tea Leoni.
Duchovny actually discussed rumors regarding his sexual appetite in a 1997 interview he did with Playgirl. "I'm not a sex addict. I have never been to those meetings," Duchovny said. "It's hurtful to my family, and if I was involved with a woman in a monogamous relationship, it would be hurtful to her."
Duchovny also told Playgirl, "There was another story claiming I was a neat freak. If I had to choose one of the two, I think I'd rather be a sex addict."
He got his wish.
So what do you make of Duchovny's condition? And here's a question for those of you who didn't watch the first season of Californication: Does this news make you more likely to check out season two?

The swimmer who dazzled us during the summer Olympics by winning a record-number of gold medals is scheduled to present an award at MTV's Video Music Awards on September 7, and he is going to host the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on September 13. Oh, and he just filmed a cameo for Entourage. What's next? Is he going to replace Regis on Live with Regis and Kelly? He probably will.
While I have to admit that Phelps was the only reason I had any interest in the Olympics (like other Americans, I dutifully tuned in to watch the swimmer win gold after gold after gold, and like other Americans, I couldn't help but gawk at his lean, toned body and wishing I, too, could consume 12,000 calories a day), I don't know how much I really need to see of this guy out of the pool—not to mention fully dressed.
What do you think? Does Phelps have to be careful about overexposure, or are you someone who can't get enough of him?

Judging Jennifer Aniston's wardrobe, Tim recently told OK!, "Sometimes I think she has 'desperate character' written on her. The clothes we wear send a message. And I think that's the message—I don't think that's her intention though."
Asked by the magazine whether Jennifer's fashion choices might offer clues as to why her romance with John Mayer recently dissolved (and I can't even believe he answered this ridiculous question), Tim mused, "I can't help but think that she's pretty high maintenance."
Ouch.
Does anyone else think Tim is being a little hard on Jennifer?

Duchovny once was asked if an interview if he had been to Philly previously (in other words prior to whatever he was doing in Philly around the time of the interview.) He stumbled on answering, "no." I think he was lying, but this is merely my opinion.
