"Dallas" Reunion Buzz: The Gang Gathers At Southfork, And We Cast The "Dallas" Movie
(Getty Images) Who shot J.R.? You'll be able to ask Larry Hagman in person if you attend The Dallas 30th Anniversary Cast Reunion & Ewing Barbeque.
The bash is going to be held on November 8 at the famed Southfork Ranch outside of Dallas and will be attended by several of the show's stars, including Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy.
Tickets to the event for the general public will go on sale August 22. For more information, visit the Dallas reunion site.
While we're on the subject of Dallas, whatever happened to the Dallas movie?
According to UltimateDallas, the official fansite for Dallas, the feature film was announced back in 2005, but it has yet to go into production.
I remember talk of John Travolta playing J.R., and Jennifer Lopez being cast as Sue Ellen when the project had some buzz.
Personally, I would love to see the show adapted for the big screen, but I think we need a younger leading man in the role of J.R. I would cast Josh Holloway, who plays Sawyer on Lost, as J.R. Don't you think he'd be amazing as the charmingly devious oilman?
Eva Longoria as Sue Ellen works for me, and I'd hire Ryan Gosling as Bobby and Jennifer Garner to play Pamela. I would give the role of Lucy to Scarlet Johansson.
Enough of my casting fantasies. Now it's your turn. Who would you cast in the leading roles of a Dallas feature film?
My dream cast for Dallas would be as follows:
James Brolin - Jock Ewing
Diane Ladd - Miss Ellie
Jon Hamm (AMC's Mad Men) - J.R. Ewing
Matthew Fox (ABC's Lost) - Bobby Ewing
Julie Benz (Showtime's Dexter) - Sue Ellen Ewing
Amy Acker (CW's Angel) - Pamela "Barnes" Ewing
Justin Kirk (Showtime's Weeds) - Cliff Barnes
Katie Cassidy (CW's Supernatural)- Lucy Ewing
David Boreanaz (Fox's Bones & CW's Angel)- Ray Krebbs
If you're not sure who these people are...IMDB them and you'll know and see they would be perfect!!

NAH! JR was a prick and not pretty...but we loved him...put that guy in would spoil the true to original JR who was owned by Larry Hagman? just like that brokeback mountain movie was made more appalling by making the characters pretty...which they weren’t in the equally appalling book, which gets me back to this voyeuristic female thinking she can write about gay men
