Classic Clip: Coop in a Can
Where to start? I mean, it's too easy. At this point, it's almost like Anderson is flaunting his closeted sexuality at us. I mean, of all the "letters of the day", he gets assigned "G", and he's reporting for GNN...AND he's doing it half-in/half-out of a trash can?
Let's just cut to the chase: G is for gay, and that trash can is a closet. There. That said, the skit is what makes Sesame Street so g-g--great. These public television hippies can get people to do anything! On some level, Coop knows what we'll all think and decided to go with it anyways. It just makes him dreamier, which makes his closeted status all the more frustrating....just can't win.
Props to Dan Rather-Not too. G-g-g-good stuff. (Note: this originally aired a year ago, but was rebroadcast yesterday - so as you can see, Coop was wearing the purple tie that's become so ubiquitous all the way back on '07.)
A. Cooper plays it straight pretty darn well.
And most thoughtful to include the word, "gastroenteritis," for the apparently quite g-g-gifted pre-school set that watches that program.

Could somebody gives this albino a new nickname? Coop sounds so much like Poop. It's unfortunate!

And the lavender shirt and tie...

Purple tie, eh? That was a gay signal all the way back in the early 1930s.

I love it when Andy says, "I've been in some tight spots before". Shame on me! Anyway, Anderson is fantastic in this.
