"Project Runway" Fans Could Be In For A Long Wait, The Secret Life Of Queen Latifah

HeidiklumOkay, I know season five of Project Runway isn't even over yet. In fact, the two-part season finale starts tonight. But, if like me, you are already looking forward to season six, I've got some bad news: It could be a long wait.

The sixth season of Project Runway was supposed to begin airing on Lifetime this January, however, as we previously reported, Bravo's parent company NBC Universal sued the show's producer, Weinstein Co., to stop the network switch, and a New York state Supreme Court judge recently issued a preliminary injunction preventing the show—or any spinoff—from airing on Lifetime.

Now, The Los Angeles Times reports that barring a settlement agreement, it is "highly unlikely" that Project Runway will be back on the air in January—the show would have to be on by January in order for the finalists to be able to show at New York Fashion Week in February.

So if Project Runway fails to begin its sixth season in January, how long could we potentially wait for the show to strut its stuff again?

Maybe late summer. According to The Los Angeles Times, if this drags on, and the Weinstein Co. is triumphant, Lifetime would have to hold off on running the show until late summer so that the finalists could take part in September's New York Fashion Week.

Late summer? I don't want to wait that long!

That said, if NBC Universal winds up winning its lawsuit, it's not really any better for fans dying for the new season to start because it's not like Project Runway can quickly be slotted on Bravo. Actually, it likely wouldn't even air on Bravo. The Los Angeles Times reports that before the Weinstein Co. ended its negotiations with NBC Universal, there had been talk of airing Project Runway elsewhere within the NBC Universal channel lineup—possibly on NBC.

It's all so complicated.

Project Runway host and executive producer Heidi Klum tells the newspaper that she thinks fans will be "sad" if they have to wait a long time for the show to return.

Uh, Heidi, sad isn't a strong enough sentiment. Try devastated!

Timgunn_2 For his part, Tim Gunn is confident that Project Runway fans will be there for the show whenever it comes back. "Frankly, I've been more worried about having too much Runway, thinking, 'Oh, my God, people are going to overdose on this,' " Gunn tells The Los Angeles Times. "The fans will wait for us. I have every confidence in that."

Is Tim right? Does Project Runway have its audience all sewn up? If the sixth season is delayed six, seven, eight months—maybe longer—will you tune in, or will you have lost interest by then?

The Secret Life Of Queen Latifah

Queenlatifah Queen Latifah will soon be seen on the big screen in The Secret Life of Bees. Meanwhile, she continues to star in what I'd like to call The Secret Life of Queen Latifah offscreen.

For years, there have been rumors about her being a lesbian. But she has continually refused to discuss her sexual orientation.

Still, a reporter for The New York Times Magazine who recently wrote a feature on Queen, dared to inquire, noting that there has been speculation about a romance between the star and a female trainer.

Queen's response?

"I don't have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life," Queen is quoted as saying. "You don't get that part of me. Sorry… I don't feel like I need to share my personal life, and I don't care if people think I'm gay or not. Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway."

Okay, I'm going to assume that Queen is gay.

What do you think about her refusal to discuss her sexual orientation? If Queen is indeed a lesbian and came out, do you think the revelation would hurt her career, or would all still hail the Queen?

I didn't realize Queen Latifah was even being considered as straight.

That being said, should Queenie out herself it would prevent her from landing choice roles such as Rosaleen Daise in The Secret Life of Bees. Oh wait, that's heterosexual Jennifer Hudson's role. Latifah plays August Boatwright, a middle-aged women who eschews the conventions of marriage.

Dear Queen Latifah: We all know you're a lesbian and we don't care. The end.

Queef raises some very excellent points.

However, I think the question we should be asking is not whether a coming-out party would hurt her career, but rather, would a heterosexual declaration *help* her career. Methinks yes, particularly when we all already assume she is a lesbian. Which she is.

Therefore, if Queen came out as straight, no one would believe her and the benefit to her career would be infinitesimally small. This is why she chooses to not comment.

If she came out she'd be the next Ellen.

Its her own business. She has the right to privacy and assume nothing is my take...its her life..not mine

If she is which i hope she is its going to be the bomb. The Queen has come home!!!!I really love that she is as private as she is. We will always love her...no madder what!!!

Celebs that refuse to talk about their sexual orientation are GAY! Why would a str8 not talk about their sexual orientation? They are GAY, GAY, GAY! But is o'k with me.

I think everyone should respect her privacy, So what if she is gay?! It is her business to begin with, and no one elses!!!! She don't need to parade it all over the media, like the other celebs do!!!

it is her business and nobody else's. just because she is a celebrity doesn't mean she owes the public anything. im sure some of you (i know i did) had a difficult time coming out. i certainly wouldn't want to experience that process in a public way. i think she is a talent and i dont care who she sleeps with.

Who cares? That's what's wrong with society. She's not causing harm to people, robbing them, murdering them, raping them, etc. Live and let live and get a better live yourselves than having to worry about outing someone. Geez! People never learn.

You know, it's really no ones business if she's gay or str8. If she wanted people she would tell them...straight up! You know, I know we basically pay these stars salaries when we see their movies, buy their music but people really need to understand that underneath it all, THEY ARE REGULAR PEOPLE!! No more no less. It's HER business and if she wants to keep her private life private, GOOD FOR HER!!! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!!

It is wonderful that Queen doesn't care anything about what anyone thinks..thats why i love her!!! No matter what, she still has the power, talent, and finesse to win over any audience!!!

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the reasons I stopped watching the Janice Dickenson show--in spite of the eye candy--was the VERY PUBLIC AND PAINFUL outing of J.P. Calerdon. It was a disgrace. You could see the convesation every gay person has with themselves written on his face. It was wrong, no matter how many times he writes in Instinct magazine it was the best thing to happen to him. LET PEOPLE BE--themselves. Does any "personality" get to ask and publish the press's sexual orientation? I'd sure like to see someone--hopefully live--asked a reporter which side of the fence THEY swing on.

Just because she doesn't talk about it doesn't make her gay. You have to consider that she's a celebrity, and the media and paps have already all up in her business. So why not keep your privte life private. It's the one thing that she can actually keep to herself. Why expose every part of your being to the public. You see what happens to these other celebrities when they put all their business out there. It always ends in disaster, because then they start feeling like they have nothin left for themesleves. It might seem crazy to the average person but just consider what she deals with on a daily basis.

Typically black celebs don't like to put all there business out there anyway, especially if they're not married. Mainly because we don't like folks all up in our kool-aid. you can leave that for the brittany's and lindsey's of the entertainment business.

It's her deal - leave it alone. Simply appreciate her talent, class and contributions! How she butters her bread is her business!

I think Queen Latifah is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. I have had great respect for her since I can remember. I love the fact that she says its no one's business what her sexuality is. First of all, it doesn't make you a better homo if you come screaming out of the closet while waving the rainbow flag. Second, people have assumed that many celebrities are gay and they were not. Tom Cruise? Please! That guy is a first class wierdo, but he's NOT gay. As much as people would have loved to have him come out of the closet, it ain't happening. I grow tired and frustrated by the flamboyent, militant gay guys that think you have to march around in the town square in gold lamme thongs while draped in the queer colors and giving two snaps up to advertise your homodom. Go ahead and be proud, that's YOUR thing. While we are NOT ashamed of who we are, we also don't choose to "put it out there" as a badge of honor. It should be a private matter. Most heteros don't run around screaming, "I'M STRAIGHT - HELLLLOOOOOO, HETERO OVER HERE!!" Why should we do it? Why should a famous person do it?

I love Queen Latifah, if she is or is not; if she wants to come out or not (for that matter if anybody does or does not); is no bodies business but theirs.
The notion that people SHOULD be out is inconsiderate of their personal situations and indeed, we don't demand sexual proclamations from straight people. It's so 90's. If you need to know, you're really just a nosy queen.

She could be str8, gay or bisexual and it wouldn't matter to me because either way I won't be having sex with her and she won't be having sex with me. Regardless of her orientation I'll still watch her movies and like her songs. Rosie came out and now I think she's just the weirdest person on the planet and wished she never had so that I don't have to claim her as one of the "family." Ellen came out and she's hilarious because she's a good person and so is the Queen so I don't really need to know.

ohhhhh what a waste of ink... I'm more concerned about the market crash...

Heidi Klum needs to make her dresses alittle bit longer. her legs are to long for the little short one that she appears in. And those shoes! In them she walks like a kid lerning to walk in shoes for the first time. To much legs is just to much.

What's wrong with someone being gay/straight,Transexual etc. The media should leave my Queen alone to live her life. It makes no difference whatsoever as an individual. Queen has the right to her privacy and those celebs who want to discuss their privacy life to the media and the public that's their business. What award have they gotten from the media or the public? Absolutely nothing. At least she's done nothing wrong to hurt anyone- it's we the public that hurt ourselves by such issues and think someone has injured or hurt our feelings. You had rather not know who she is and get on with your life. I support you 100%- I love and accept you as you are my beauty.
Eric from London

The girl is smart, successful and conducts her life with dignity. She is an example for women everywhere regardless of orientation. People of the homosexual persuasion do themselves a disservice by speculating on matters that do not concern them specifically. What she does on her own time is her own business and not ours. Does she ride the P-train to Sapphoville? I don't know, and I don't care....and neither should anyone else.

why does everyone have to be "out" if they are gay.

Like she said, she doesn't care and I don't either. She might be a lesbian, she might not. It doesn't really matter because it doesn't effect who she is as a person. So unless you're some horny girl that wants to get in her pants, then it shouldn't effect you either.

years and years ago,i use to work as a bartender at a gay dance club called TRACKS, boy do i miss that place and legendary D.J. David Depino & i and a few members of the house of Xtravaganza.( of Paris is Burning and Madonna's dancers fame)were in the DJ booth. we were just having fun as we always did back then, the club was packed. all of sudden we looked down at the dance floor and there she was Queen Latifah and her at the time girlfriend, hugged up dancing, this is New York we see celebs all the time ,,Madonna and Grace Jones use it go as well,,boy those were the days. but no one bothered her ,,but i remember it well children

For me, I guess if Queen comes out as a Lesbian..well, good for her! :) At least she dares to lead her own life without others expectations. But yea..it's true, who cares if she's Lesbian or not cos ultimately I will still love you for your cool acting!! :D

Go Queen! You rock! Don't be afraid to lead your life the way you want it! :D

The shitty thing about accusations like this is that whether they be true or not they won't ever go away. There is nothing the person can say or do to alleviate the situation. If she makes no comment we assume it is true. If she says straight we assume she's lying. This is one of the reasons articles like this and Perez Hilton's Blog is so obnoxious to me. I am an openly (mostly) gay male but it's not my place to force anyone else out of the closet. So whether she is or isn't I don't care, cause she's not sleeping with me.

great actress,pretty hot,and a good singer,do we need more of her,she rocks
