So now.... all you gay men who want Palin to win...
She supports a church that prays over people to remove the demons of witchcraft and homosexuality.
McCain has supported the party that has brought the largest debt in the history of this country.
Endless war with thousands dead are the result of McCain and his party.
Environmental crisis looms because of the Republican party's refusals to use science and instead quotes Christianity to solve problems.
Habeus Corpus has been removed and torture is condoned by the Republicans.
Palin has little education, no experience and is a gun toting fascist.
But because Mr. Obama is black and his middle name is Hussein that makes him a terrorist to you freaks.
Biden supports gay jmarriage. Palin doesn't think gays and women have civil rights.
Obama talks about the issues of civilo rights. McCain points fingers and calls names to divert attention from his failures and his party's immense tragedy that has been Bush.

love how on ellen we support gays, but when we are in a vice presidential debate we say i agree totally with governor palin. when obama is front of the right wing conservative church groups, he isn't for gay anything. its just a ploy for votes. It makes me feel like they look at gay interests as a joke that they have to patronize to get their vote, then forget about us when they are in the white house.

Like most reasonable individuals, Biden's personal beliefs do not extend to public policy. He is comfortable with the right of the individual to make decisions about marriage for him or herself without the intrusion of the government or religious organizations. He may not choose gay marriage for himself, but he is reluctant to enshrine into Constitutional law a permanent prohibition of that right for others. That exhibits a CLEAR distinction between Obama/Biden and McSame/Palincunt. McSame/Palincunt support Prop 8 openly and Palincunt supports an amendment to the U.S. Constitution forever banning ANY states right to accept gay marriage. Now, thats not all that difficult for an intelligent individual to understand. For those weak-minded Uncle Toms who insist that there is no difference between the candidates on this issue, this should be clear. Unfortunately they do not reason very well - so it may be confusing.

>love how on ellen we support gays, but when we are in a vice presidential debate we say i agree totally with governor palin.
Palin dissembled about her views on gay rights in that debate. Her record is clear, as is McSame's. They oppose ENDA, oppose adoption rights, actively work to ban marriage equality, support Don't Ask Don't Tell Don't Pursue, oppose domestic partner benefits (despite trying to dissemble on this point,) and Palin, at least, thinks being gay is a choice and that "reparations therpay" can work.
Now get to rehab you stinking, clouded drunk.

I am supporting Obama all the way....
But I am confused why Biden is now supporting gay marriage when he very clearly said in the debate that he didn't. Can anyone shed some light on this...am I missing something?
Posted by: Cory | October 21, 2008 at 01:21 PM
WOW! Biden goes on Ellen and says he would not vote for Prop 8! Although the support is welcome, thats no surprise. I would have been more surprised if Biden, Ellen, someone, ANYONE, ever said they would not support Amendment 2 in Florida. Amendment 2 is far more dangerous to gays and lesbians, as well as straight people, than Prop 8, yet gay.com, and everyone else is ignorning us. Lets make sure a few people can marry in California, while you ignore that people in Florida, who are about to have basic rights taken away from them. No more domestic partnerships, for gay or straight. Gay.com can add all they want to the outcry over Prop 8, and it should be defeated. Just tell me why you refuse to even mention, ever, Amendment 2 in ANY of these articles? COME ON GAY.COM, DO YOUR PART!!! HELP FLORIDA TOO!!! NO ON PROP 8, AND NO ON AMENDMENT 2!!!!! If you want more info on Amendment 2, go to www.sayno2.com.

Big shock, a democrat pandering to the queers again. Just like democrats past, every swinging dick loving queer thinks the democratic party is an answer to everything that is anti-gay. This is just like the democratic party being an answer to every other minority and their cause or causes. Have you noticed that no matter who gets elected, things never really change? Get with the times people, open you're effin' eyes and ears and actually think with your head (the one on your shoulders) instead of the one hanging between your legs, hoping that every fag can get the right to marry, the right to sit by their partner who is sick in the hospital or the right to adopt. I'm gay and I'm SICK of the faggots who continually perpetuate the stereotype by waving their god awful rainbow flags and force their sexuality on everyone. It's no ones fucking business who you're intimate with, plain and simple. Of course, some of you will now say that I've got issues or that I'm not "secure" with myself. I assure you, I'm one of the few in the gay world that doesn't see myself as a gay guy, I'm a guy that happens to be gay. I'm damn secure with myself, and would love to take on anyone who challenges me and thinks otherwise! If you're man enough, bring it!

Um, Biden is against gay marriage. Watch the second debate, and he agrees with Palin. Check the facts.
Posted by: Dave Miller | October 21, 2008 at 05:36 PM
The McPalin campaign's "Str8 Talk Express" is coming into the home stretch. We've been listening for months as their campaign has unleashed and fanned the flames of the most hateful forms of division they could come up with to work their base into a frenzy. When that failed to move the polls in their favor, out comes the gay baiting.
John McCain has gone on record saying that marriage equality is a state issue. With a wink and a nod, he now sends his pitbull out to play on middle America's homophobia, hoping to tilt the balance in his favor.
John McCain -- you are despicable, as are the LCRs who are busying themselves at this very moment to come up with a plausible rationale of why he is still deserving of their support. He and they are left without a shred of honor or decency.
Posted by: Bruno Kravitz | October 21, 2008 at 05:48 PM
During the VP debate (really it an "I'll ignore that question and spin" session), Joe Biden clearly stated that although he is not in favor of gay marriage, he is in favor of civil unions/domestic partnership and -- here's the most important point, LCRs -- HE SUPPORTS FEDERAL TAX EQUALITY for gay couples. The GOP is in favor of denying same-sex couples any federal benefit or recognition or equal footing across the board. (spin that one if you can, LCRs...)

Will is amusing. Probably has no relationship to protect or, perhaps one not worth protecting. If your relationships do not define you, then your priorities are totally fucked up. Ask any straight person on the right what defines them and I can tell you it would be their family. Grow up you faggot Uncle Tom. You really DO have some issues.

Posted by: Jason | October 21, 2008 at 11:11 PM
I heard the exact same statement from both the Republicans and Democrats - marriage is between one man and one woman. (They like to throw in the "One man/One woman" remark so it connects us with polygamy. Clever.) The big difference is that the Democrats will accept our votes. Nice of them. How much did the Democrats talk about gay rights in the last year? Was it the one "obligatory" sentence they throw in every speech? As far as I'm concerned, anyone who thinks Democrats DESERVE our votes is expecting nothing to change. Aren't you tired of paying taxes and getting partial benefits? Being seen as perverts or second-class citizens? I want a president who says what he really believes, not what he (or she) thinks will give him more votes. I have no plans to vote for either party. I don't want a "cool" president. And I'm tired of the stereotypical gay attacks towards people who aren't 21. You aren't getting a deal by voting for Obama, and you're not getting any younger just like the rest of us. I'm not for McCain, but I think you're in denial if Obama will really "change" your life.
Posted by: Terry | October 22, 2008 at 12:43 AM
I know it's tempting to completely disengage, Terry; believe me, I've considered it, too. But please don't. Find somebody that you can put just a little of your hope into, and put your vote there. Don't throw away what you might consider just a meaningless stake in the system by not voting. As bad as you think politics is now (and I agree that we're in a sorry state; I doubt you could be any more cynical than I am), to withhold your vote would be even worse, especially for you.
Posted by: Bruno Kravitz | October 22, 2008 at 01:18 AM
One more comment, Terry. I don't know whether a President Obama or a President McCain would change any of our lives for the better or for the worse; I have my opinions about that, but I'm not here to convince you about that one way or the other. However, I do feel very strongly that the policies of the last eight years under the current administration will be affecting all of our lives for a very long time to come. There's nothing any of us can do to undo the damage that's already been done; but a lot of us can say with a clear conscience that our votes in 2000 and 2004 did not contribute to the assaults on our Constitution and our way of life, the full impact of which I do not believe we have even begun to feel in our daily lives. Please -- please vote.

It's sad that in order to get gay marriage we have to become a socialist nation, with one we must also get the other. I prefer to be a capitalist free market nation,.....and file my tax returns as "single". Government has no business in either the economy or marriage.
Posted by: Jett | October 22, 2008 at 02:23 AM
Lol.....Republican talking points = Obama is a "Socialist". The politics of desperation. Once again we are hearing from people who have no relationship to protect, one not worth protecting, or individuals who place politics before what should be the single most important thing in their lives - their relationships. It is a sad commentary on the lives of some individuals to find that their priorities are so fucked up and that politics come first in their lives.
P.S. This nation has for quite some time a mix of capitalism and socialism. The Republicans have done nothing to change that fact. If anything Bush, with his endorsment of the nationalization of our banking system has furthered that.
Posted by: Merle | October 22, 2008 at 05:50 AM
One does get the impression that some "prefer filing single" because they have no other choice.
Posted by: Merle | October 22, 2008 at 06:53 AM
>It's sad that in order to get gay marriage we have to become a socialist nation
Okay, so you're in favor of ditching public schools and universities, ditching municipal police and fire and road departments, ditching Medicare and Medicaid, ditching public libraries and ditching Social Security, right? (Oh wait, you constapo morons really do want to ditch Social Security; my error.)
Your bogeyman code words don't seem to be working so well at the moment. BTW, The Vice President runs the Senate, and can get lots of good legislation....
>But I am confused why Biden is now supporting gay marriage when he very clearly said in the debate that he didn't.
You could make an argument that fighting against the amending of a state constitution to bar a class of people from receiving a right is different from actively working for that class of people to receive that right.
In fact, the US Supreme Court already made such a distinction in Roemer. Taking away rights from a class of persons at the state level would require the highest scrutiny. CO was not permitted to do it.
Even if Biden and Obama don't work for marriage equality at this time, they support ENDA, support gov't domestic partner benefits, oppose DADT and support hate crimes laws.
McSame and that perky sociopath he got stuck with* are the exact opposite on all these g/l/b/t issues.
(*McSame couldn't choose Lieberman in place of that Moose Unwhisperer loon, since Lieberman is essentially pro gay and pro choice. Tough sht for the str8 tawkin maevrik, McSame.)

It's so sad to read the words of those who hate themselves so much. What a waste of a life, to spend it reviling everything that you are, speaking of yourself, and others, with such disparaging contempt. It won't earn you points with anyone, not even conservatives who'm you feel hold the key to your self respect. Free yourself, take charge of your happiness, get some professional help if need be, and turn your life into something positive, not something that disgusts you. "Convert" to heterosexuality if you feel that will make you the happiest, I don't think you'd hear any arguments from the gay men and women who respect themselves enough to stand up for their rights.
Calling another gay man an "uncle tom faggot" because he comes to the comment section and shares his self hatred, doesn't achieve anything positive either. It makes you sound as unhappy as him.
Let's just hope that as we progress as a group, the atmosphere will be less and less conducive to this kind of negative self view.
And as another Florida resident, please don't forget about ammendment 2!!!
Posted by: Kirk | October 22, 2008 at 12:26 PM
I think they are all a bunch of liars! They all promise things they can't keep- gay oriented or not. I too am very comfortable with my sexuality and am in a commited relationship and we have children too. Although the children are biologiclly my partners, I feel the need to explore all options for both candidates, and I am not impressed with either. All I can do is hope for the best for our country as a whole- which includes our gay community as well, however there are other issues that are just as pressing and if we want change, we need to speak out for it. Democrat or republican, I think that bipartisan politics would work far better for unification, however I know I will never see it in my lifetime. If nothing else, go with what you believe in. Almost anything is better than what we have now.

What "Changes" Obama will bring us: Corruption, Deceit, (his own) Assassination (With nutty, angry Biden taking over), Terrorism on the homeland, Humiliation and Failure in Iraq/Afghanistan, Iran w/ Nukes, Russian Cold War II, Oil and Gas Shortages, Economic Collapse, Racism and Race Riots, Money Squandered on Liberal Pork Projects Passed by Nancy Pelosi & Friends, More Money Given to Welfare & Illegals, the End to Homeland Security and Open Borders, Universal Healthcare Where You Wait Years for Surgery and Are a #, INCREASED TAXES EVEN ON SMALL BUSINESS SINCE MOST MAKE MORE THAN $250,000 AND EMPLOY MILLIONS BUT WILL HAVE TO CUT JOBS, More Corrupt Voter Fraud (e.g. ACORN-Obama's former employer and who he's giving 100k's to to illegally acquire votes), A Democratic Majority President and House & Senate: NO checks and balances - any crazy pork bill will pass!, And for you Gays--you will still not be looked favorably upon once Obama gets your vote--you'll just get screwed again by another Democratic president! -- Let's see what else will Obama bring to the White House, I guess he'll swear an oath on the Q'uran/Koran again and segregate white people en masse... I'm all for a black or female president, I think that would be great, just not Obama-- don't vote based on color, sex or what freebies you "think" you'll get--because you won't! Vote for the candidate you'd think would keep us safe and secure and would not soil the Oval Office with corruption. Don't be fooled by Obama's prepped speeches and preacher-like way of speaking, that man is an inexperienced moron without the backup. He shouldn't have even been allowed to be a senator (his short term as one before running for president). Obama thinks gays can be changed through religion, McCain does not and if you research Palin's time as Governor you'd see she's a supporter of gay rights--NOT Obama and not Biden--this is a last ditch attempt by the aneuritic pron nutcase to get your votes, the man just recently said we'd be attacked by terrorists if Obama won....SCARY!!
Posted by: Liberal/CommunistAmerica | October 22, 2008 at 08:14 PM
Oops aneurism prone nutcase Biden I meant to say in the last commentary :) -- and they say McCain's in bad shape and old, Biden's on his last leg and he more than likely would be our next president since Obama's going to be a target by all when he really f--ks things up and pisses more people off-- Obama's buds/terrorists Bill Ayers & Khadili, Rev. Wright, Louis Farrakan, etc. are just the icing on the cake of corruption & racism he'll bring to the White House.
Posted by: LiberalCommunistAmerica | October 22, 2008 at 08:23 PM
It's so sad the Liberals have so little to go on trying to attack McCain/Palin that they have to compare him to Bush (their whipping boy scapegoat for ANYTHING that goes wrong) but can't dig up anything on him. As for Palin they can only bring up "Trooper Gate"--the man threatened to kill her family and tasered her nephew, he should be in jail or a mental ward not just fired. All the Libs can do is grab at straws and act like kindergarteners with the "I know you are but what am I!" tactics and slander-- they never acknowledge their own corruption and hide what they can through their puppet news stations and newspapers and ever loyal union supporters including academia (brainwashing future Liberals of America 'a la Hitler style) Berkeley, Columbia U. ... I wonder if Obama will brand us with Nazi-like #s or symbols...Dems, Repubs, Jews, gays, Islamists... I bet if he wanted to spend tax dollars on concentration camps Nancy Pelosi and the Dems would eagerly pass it
Posted by: anonymous | October 22, 2008 at 08:37 PM
I don't understand why this happens every election. Most gays back the one that that throws in enough pro-gay feel good sentences, when we all know that they don't mean it. John Kerry was "pro-gay" on the campaign trail. After he lost he said that he never meant it. Why is Obama any different? We either have the Republicans that hate us to our face, or the Democrats that hate us behind our backs. I AM a registered Democrat, but I can't see that Obama/Biden is going to be any different for us than what we have now. We are a non issue to them, we are something that both parties throw in for votes, the Republicans are against to get the evangelical vote, and the Democrats are for to get ours, but at least the Republicans are telling it like they believe, and not saying what they think we want to hear. That said, I DO NOT AGREE with that Mike or Mikle or whatever his name is, that gay rights and equality is not an issue. I have been with my partner for 6 years, and I don't think that the government has the right to tell us that we aren't as good as any male/female couple. I want to get married, but I am not going to put my faith or my vote with a man who I can't trust. McCain is a jerk, but at least he is an honest jerk. You don't really know where we stand with Obama.

Oooookay. You know it's time to back out when responses are nothing but rants consisting of twisted psudo-factoids, nonsensical allegations, absurd accusations, incoherant and unstructured thoughts, and blatent lies. All in a day's work when trying to communicate with those of the republican persuasion, I guess.
And anonymous -- your attempts at analogy have simply missed the mark. You attack elite 'liberal' institutions of higher education, but your 'paragraph' (for lack of a better word) leaves the reader wondering whether you have even earned your GED.
You pathetic, selfish, kool-aid swilling conservative sell-outs! Your political views point out nothing more than that you have SERIOUS unresolved daddy issues: your GOP daddy is willing to (barely)tolerate your little club of wannabe republicans, and you can keep blabbering all you want about your sense of self-respect and how being gay is not a central part of how you think about yourself, but your daddy will always see you as nothing more than a homosexual, and you will NEVER be one of the boys in their so-called "big tent"; you will always be just a wannabe. All you have really earned is the contempt of your gay brothers and sisters who have an ounce of self awareness. And that is all you truly deserve.
I'm outa' here.

Ill just never understand for the life of me how there are actual gay men who claim to be republicans and support a party who discriminates against us, wants to take away and not give us any rights just because were gay and also approve of war for the finatial kick backs, put this country further in debt, spend money on useless things, cut healthcare and just be ignorant and closed minded. i for the life of me dont understand gay republicans. thats an oximoron if i ever heard one. thats like being a vegitarian butcher. I for one want to live in a country where i have the choice to get married if i want to to who i want to marry and be given the same rights and benifits as heterosexuals like filing joint taxes, medical benifits, being able to visit my loved one in the hospital, and so on. if i lived in california id vote NO! but alas i dont so i encourge everyone to vote and vote correctly. we need change in this country not another 4 years of Bush.
Posted by: Justin | October 23, 2008 at 08:02 AM
I voted no on the marriage amendment, not because I think gays should be married. I believe marriage should only be a religious contract, and not a legal contract. There should be no such thing as divorce from a legal perspective. The whole argument is totally stupid. From a religious perspective, a marriage should be one man and one woman. That is the definition, that has always been the definition, but now we have these raving faggotts wanting to change all the rules and definitions. As a man who is gay, I am disgusted with the pathological gay community, that only speaks for a minoirity of gays and lesbians. If you do the research, you would find that there are just as many conservative republican gays as there are liberal loudmouthed democratic gays.

>I want to get married, but I am not going to put my faith or my vote with a man who I can't trust. McCain is a jerk, but at least he is an honest jerk. You don't really know where we stand with Obama.
That's the single stupidest argument in favor of self avowedly anti gay McSame and Palin I have ever heard. McSame opposes ENDA, opposes hate crimes protections, opposes public sector domestic partner benefits, supports DADT and actively works to constitutionally ban marriage equality.
Obama is the exact opposite on every one of those issues, whether he will be able to make significant progress against all the Republikkkan bigots in Congress or not.
>Ill just never understand for the life of me how there are actual gay men who claim to be republicans and support a party who discriminates against us
The Republikkkans and their Log Uncle Tom Cabin self-haters love tax cuts for the wealthy and "elective" wars more than life itself. That's all you need to know about what motivates them and their absurd, congenital lying.

ROSEANNE WAS RIGHT
I have participated in every major &
virtually every minor human rights
struggle of past half century.
I wrote 1st ACLU publication on Gay
Rights & participated in 3 days of
protests following "Stonewall."
I have known many GLBT with mental
disabilities who are out about their
sexuality but not mental illness.
Reason: there's at least one stigma
worse than being Gay -- it is called
having mental/emotional disability.
Much as many Black Rights Activists
have discriminated against women &
many Feminists have discriminated
against Gays, many Gays discriminate
against people with disabilities.
I find it interesting to see all the
GLBT like Bruno who think nothing of
characterizing people with whom they
disagree as being demented people in
need of treatment &/or medication.
Thus, it's not okay for Straights to
call homosexuals "fag" or weaklings
but alright to label as "schizos"
people with mental disabilities.
That is the difference btw few who
believe in civil rights for those
like themselves and the fewer of us
who believe in human rights for all.
At least there is an explanation for
Nazis, Klansmen and others who have no concept of human rights from the commencement of their life history.
What is the excuse for many GLBT leaders and followers like Bruno?

OMG! Lunatics on both sides of the aisle! Most of us don't like to wear "gay" on our sleeve and please, we are a lot more complex than voting the "gay" way. For myself, I am supporting McCain for a variety of reasons that include: national security, tax policy, experience, honesty, integrity, service and immigration policy. That does not make me a self-hater or a wing-nut. Polls showed about 1/4 to 1/3 of gay voters supported Bush last time and I suspect will support McCain this time. We need to see more DIVERSITY of opinion and more TOLERANCE of other points of view!

with a vote for Bush or McCain,
you've earned complete and utter disdain.
