Blindsided! Gay Lawyer Charlie Herschel Goes Down On "Survivor: Gabon"

Sorry, Charlie.

Charlie Herschel, the cute gay lawyer from New York City, got voted off Survivor: Gabon last night, and he didn't see it coming. Neither did I until the last few minutes of the episode.

In a scary display of how my mind works, I immediately wondered what Clay Aiken thought about Charlie getting the boot. (Just before Survivor: Gabon's debut, Charlie revealed that he was Clay's online chat buddy for about two years, and the guys became friends when Clay was in New York City to star in Spamalot.)

One thing's for sure: Charlie's fellow tribe member Kenny won't be getting free tickets to any of Clay's concerts. Kenny was the mastermind behind the plan to blindside Charlie: He managed to convince enough members of the newly-merged Nobag tribe that Charlie was calling all of the shots, which wasn't true. But Kenny was out for revenge after Charlie cost him an opportunity to obtain an immunity idol.

I liked Charlie a lot, but I have to give Kenny credit for making a nice play.

Kenny is my favorite player this season. The professional game player stayed under the radar, seeming weak and not so driven. But he has been playing hard and smart in the last few episodes.

Just last night, after Corinne complained that Marcus, who was voted off during last week's episode, didn't "deserve to leave the game," Kenny pointedly asked her in front of everyone, "Who does?"

Good move, Kenny.

That said, I do wish Marcus, a super hot doctor, had stayed around a little longer. Did you guys catch the episode during which Marcus was running in a challenge, and his penis slipped out of his shorts for all to see? Well, you could see it if you took the time to play the scene in slow motion, which I did.

But enough about Marcus and his goods. This post is supposed to be about Charlie.

As for Charlie's blindside, I saw it coming, and I thought it was funny how he wants to get in Marcus's pants to badly. "Thank, GOD, Marcus is gonna be in the jury house, Marcus, Marcus, Marcus, Marcus, Marcus, Marcus" lol, way to be subtle Charlie.

I was surprised to see Charlie go - moreover the last couple of votes have been surprises. I think this is the season of the underdogs.

Marcus did an interview recently and said that while he and Charlie were good friends, that Charlie was not crushing on him. Marcus came across as great gay-friendly role model for str8 men.

I didn't see it coming, but I didn't see Marcus shooting across the finish line either...until it was pointed it by my hometown radio station here in Atlanta during an interview with him where he played it off in good spirits. This season is the only season I have truly enjoyed watching Survivor and hope the twist keep on coming. However now that these two are gone I'm hoping for no more wardrobe malfunctions. As for Saud poor guy, we are gay we do love the occasional flash (thank you Justin for helping the Lesbians....) and this is gay.com TV blog.

Yep, at this point, I'm rooting for Kenny. Yeah, Marcus and Charlie and Dan were all cute, but Dan was dumb, Marcus over-confident, and Charlie simply aligned with the wrong people (Corrine who SUCKS!) I cannot wait for Randy to be booted off next (or Corrine). If Kenny doesn't win, it should go to Sugar (I was sort of rooting for Matty, but just read he had a trust fund which he blew partying too much)
