SKYY Spirits Forms A Marketing Partnership "Milk"
Let's raise a toast to SKYY Spirits.
The San Francisco-headquartered company's SKYY Vodka will be the official spirit partner of the upcoming feature film Milk. Directed by Gus Van Sant, the film opens on November 26 and tells the story of Harvey Milk, San Francisco's first openly gay elected official.
"It is a privilege to be working closely with Focus Features on a series of promotional activities to help honor someone from our own hometown of San Francisco as historically significant as Harvey Milk," says Gerry Ruvo, chairman and CEO of SKYY Spirits.
I like the way this executive thinks!
Actually, SKYY Spirits has a long history of spending its marketing dollars in support of gay-themed and gay-friendly projects. Just this year, the company launched a marketing campaign tied into the release of Sex and the City that included SKYY Vodka-sponsored charity screenings in Los Angeles as well as San Francisco. The money from those screenings went to support AIDS Project Los Angeles, Stop AIDS and San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
As for SKYY Spirits' promotional partnership with Milk, it will include a bar promotion featuring a signature Milk cocktail dubbed "Talk of the Castro" and made with SKYY Vodka, of course. For each one sold, SKYY Spirits will donate one dollar to LGBT groups including The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
So get your buzz on and support LGBT charities at the same time.
And don't forget to tip your bartender generously!
