Kathy Griffin Gets Big Bucks For Memoir

Kathy Grffin Random House's Ballantine imprint just paid $2 million for the rights to publish Kathy Griffin's memoir, according to The New York Observer.

Wow. It looks like Griffin isn't so D-list these days, is she?

No word on when the book will come out, but it should be a wild read. As we know, Griffin has no qualms about sharing, whether she's talking about her adventures in plastic surgery or her antics at the Emmys.

The book deal comes after Griffin played four shows at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden.

I was there the first night, by the way. So was Suze Orman, although she had a much better seat than I had. Did any of you attend?

Griffin was on fire, skewering everyone from Jessica Simpson for her recent weight gain ("If she doesn't get gastric bypass, she could die!" Griffin insisted) to Miley Cyrus' creepy photo with her dad Billy Ray in Vanity Fair ("If I had a picture of me like that with my dad, may he rest in peace, we'd both be vomiting," Griffin shared).

FYI: While we have to wait until June to see the new season of Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, Griffin will appear on the season finale of Privileged tonight on The CW! So tune in. I'll be watching for my Griffin fix.

Back to Griffin's memoir, will you buy it? Could she possibly reveal anything to us gays that we don't already know about her?

Oh, you are SO going to get a dozen comments along the lines of, "Is this really news? Do you think we queers even care what that ghastly troll thinks?" Well, I for one get a huge kick out of Kathyy...but I won't be buying her book: I'm going stay true to all she stands for...and swipe it from a friend when she or he isn't watching!

I would pre-order it now if I could. I love her.

I like her, and since her publisher wildly overpaid I respect her.

Saw the marvelous Bette Midler in Vegas a couple weeks ago and Kathy made a brief, but very funny cameo appearance in Bette's great show. A real surprise and we loved it.

danny, you're joking about the bette midler thing, right? i can't believe the phony, stereotypical faggery that still goes on.
