Gale Harold Speaks Out
Gale Harold reprises his role as Susan's painter beau Jackson on the May 3 episode of Desperate Housewives, but will he be around for long?
"It remains to be seen whether Jackson will be around for the season finale," Gale tells TVGuide.com, noting that Wisteria Lane isn't the safest place to be these days. "Anytime you've got somebody like Dave Williams walking up and down the street, you've got to be worried about everybody."
Gale returns to Desperate Housewives after being injured in a motorcycle crash last fall that left him with swelling on the brain and a fractured collarbone. The former Queer As Folk star doesn't shed much light on his recovery in the TVGuide.com interview, but his Desperate Housewives co-star Neal McDonough, who plays Dave, tells the site, "It's taken him such a long time to get back to being almost normal. And there are still a many problems he goes through."
Still, Gale has no plans to give up motorcycles. "I'm dying to ride again and am feeling very impatient," Gale says. "I'm giving myself a certain amount of time to know I feel good and safe."
I wish Gale would give up his bike—he was riding his prized Ducati when he was in the accident—and take up a less dangerous hobby like gardening. Or chess. Or knitting. Man, if anyone could make knitting sexy, it would be Gale.
So are you looking forward to Gale's return to Desperate Housewives? And does anyone else wish he'd get rid of that damn motorcycle?

I wish he would get rid of the motorcycle. They are death machines and it's not always the motorcycles fault. The way people drive today, you have to always be alert for everyone talking on the cell phone, texting, doing hair and makeup, reading newspapers, etc etc etc. I know people can die just as easy in a car accident, but we want you to keep that pretty face and not have road rash from your motorcycle.

I love my motorcycles...on a break between fixing mine right now ...new battery. I was run over by a hit & run drunk driver several years ago on my bike. I rebuilt the bike with my left arm while my right one was recovering from the accident. When I was healed up the bike was finished. No one ever said we bikers were a particularly smart bunch but we do love the feeling or roaring down the road in the open air. It's just wonderful if your into that sort of thing ..but it comes at a cost. I have been injured doing things as simple as walking across ice to a coke machine. And I have been injured jumping snowmobiles. There are no regrets getting hurt doing shit you really love to do. It is way better than getting hurt by random chance. When I do die I would much rather have lived this life doing stuff I loved than coming meekly to an end and dying of some horrible wasting disease. One way or the other life is dangerous and deadly. As the biker saying goes: "Live to ride ...Ride to Live"
I think Gale would agree...especially with a Ducati!!

While I'm certainly glad he's on the mend and getting back to work I just don't see where he is so desirable. He always looked greasy and unkempt to me.

Who is this guy? I've never heard of him before. Then again I don't watch either of the programs mentioned above.
But motorcycles are death traps waiting to happen. You never heard any good stories related to motorcycle ownership.

Oh yes, go Gale. I'm so thrilled he finally showed up. It was SO great to see and hear him after that horrible accident.
And I'm kinda ok with him not giving up motorcycles... If that's what he really loves, nothing's gonna stop him. Looks like he's just like my friend, who had a serious accident and his first words after he finally regained consciousness were like: "where's my bike". Motorcyclists are niepoprawny.
Anyway, SO good to have you back, GH.

and yes the bike needs to go. boats, bikes and SUVs are such a waste of gas not to mention that SUVs and bikes are so dangerous

I'm glad he is back but I wish they would start the series QAF. Gale was the sexiest actor in the show. I related to him and when he was in bed with Justen sent me over the top .It just made me so horny I would have wet dreams about the two in my sleep,wake up and have to take matters into my ouwn hand.Please bring the show back.

I believe that GH should do what he loves to do. I mean we only live once. So go for the gusto I say. I haven't really been watching DHW but would definitely love to see QAF back on the air. I miss that show. I would relate to each of them on so many levels. I loved GH's character on there. So snooty and yet so loveable. I never knew either that he had an accident but am definitely glad he is still around. I do agree that he could do anything and make it look sexy. Well so would the rest of the cast on QAF even the females and I am strictly well.. yea..

I would hate to see him give up riding. If you fall off a horse, get back on. Motorcycles are the same way. I ride, have always riden and will ride till the day I die. I read in a previous post that bikes are a waste of gas... This has me puzzled. Your Prius gets you what, 42 MPG. My bike gets me 50 on the freeway and is alot more fun. Any how, I had defend him. Great to see him back.

Since when is it anyone's business whether he gives up his bike or not. The only people who have a say in the matter are those closest to him. The rest of can wish whatever we want, but the truth is that we are not part of his life.
As for motorbikes being a waste of gas, have you checked out their fuel mileage in comparison to a small car?

To me, riding any motorcycle -- not just very fast, very powerful ones -- is insane. But riders KNOW the risks and do their own risk-benefit analysis. I had a co-worker whose husband was killed during a warmup run preceeding a race. She is still actively involved in the racing circuit and community. I wish she and Gale Harold wouldn't ride, but it's one of their greates pleasures and joys -- and it's their lives -- so I don't judge them in any way.

I love this guy! I watch Queer As Folk on a daly bases! And he is A great actor! I didnt know about his MotorCycle Accedent... Im very happy he is doning much better. I say what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger. And as they say on Queer as folk "He's Brain Fuckin kenny for god sakes" Your not going to be able to stop him anyways.
Theres a reason he Plays a stuborn man in QAF... Its b/c he is stuborn.
