In the space of a mere five-minute interview with Family Research Council President Tony Perkins (no, not Psycho Tony Perkins...), Stephen Colbert was able to suck the wind out of the anti-gay marriage movement's sails in a way that proves once and for all that Colbert is the most intelligent voice of reason in media today.

My fanatical Colbert Report viewing took a hit with the writers' strike - it just pained me too much to see my dreamy would-be fascist not getting all the laughs he deserves.
Well, he's back on track with his new series, "Better Know a Lobbyist". (Getty Image) Does Stephen Colbert have a better chance of getting caught in a public restroom sex bust than a gay sex advice columnist? To hear Dan Savage tell it on the latest installment of Colbert Report's "Gay Roundup", you might think so.
Friend ("just a friend") of the Show Savage stopped by to discuss new hate crime legislation. While treading somewhat tremulous ground for comedy, the conversation quickly toward Sen. Larry Craig, who is turning out to be comic gold for Colbert.
