Colbert Gaytion: Presidentially Speaking

Stephen Colbert for President? According to last night's guest, Sam Waterston (these Law & Order people take themselves so seriously! Spare us from having to learn what Ice T's political leanings are), a new political reform movement called "Unity08" has chosen Mr. Stephen Colbert as one of its frontrunners in a bid for the White House. Ever the skeptic, Colbert questioned the group's use of the internet as a democracy-building tool, warning that if Internet users get their way, we'll be sending Chris Crocker to the White House. I don't see Sarah Silverman getting a cabinet position in this scenario.

Later, showing how to lose with class, Mr. Colbert welcomed Tony Bennett on the show, whose TV special recently beat out The Colbert Report for Best Variety Show at the Emmys. Personally I think Tony Bennett is beyond overrated, so I was thrilled when Mr Colbert jumped to join Tony halfway through "Who's Got the Laugh Last Now". Mr Colbert could scarcely contain his excitment, and he actually sounded pretty good too. Perhaps there is a "Colbert: The Musical" on the horizon.

Colbert Gaytion: Art of the Dry Heave

Forget the flag-waving breeders of the Colbert Nation. I'm a gay Stephen Colbert addict - and just like I need my Mocha Frappucino (no fat, no whip) , I need me a daily dose of Colbert to keep me going . Watching Stephen Colbert is like watching a master at the top of his game. His facile turn of a phrase or piercing stare under a severely-arched eyebrow is frankly unmatched on TV, as is his nightly willingness to do whatever it takes to seperate himself from the pack; I don't see Leno, Kimmel or even John Stewart dancing in a Korean pop music video anytime soon. Need further proof of his genius?

Check out his segment from last week, "The Craziest F@#%$% Thing". Watch him as he reports on Japan's new Mayonnaise Bar,where you can order a cocktail with mayo on the rim of the glass. And watch Colbert do the best freakin' dry heave you have ever seen. A triple-take dry heave! He literally elevates to such an art form, it makes Mr. Roper's double-takes and Jack Tripper's spit-takes pale in comparison.

Watch the dry heave now!
