The silver fox of a newscaster Anderson Cooper has been known to fill in for Regis Philbin occasionally on the Live! With Regis and Kelly show. But Cooper told People magazine there's no plan for a permanent placement on the morning chat fest, The 360 host cleared up any misconceptions that he may be replacing Philbin. "Regis is the king," Cooper cooed. "He's not going anywhere!"
"It's completely made up. I have no idea where it came from," Cooper said of the rumor. "Regis is not retiring, and I'm very happy with what I'm doing. I occasionally fill in for Regis, which is maybe how this came about. I love filling in for him," Cooper added. "I love working with Kelly Ripa. … It's nice to exercise different muscles."

Paula Abdul is forever our girl, but it looks like her run on American Idol could be over. "Very sadly, it does not appear that she's going to be back on Idol," her manager David Sonenberg tells The Los Angeles Times.
Idol, which begins its ninth season in January, will begin auditioning singers in a couple of weeks, but the producers of the show have yet to reach out to Paula to discuss extending her contract, according to Sonenberg.

Ellen DeGeneres certainly has to relate to Adam Lambert's ballyhoed coming out. While she famously told Newsweek, "Yep, I'm gay," the American Idol runner up just told Rolling Stone, "I'm proud of my sexuality."
In turn, Ellen is proud of Adam. "I'm proud of him, and I'm happy for anyone who has the guts to actually tell the world who they are and not fear they are going to lose their career or alienate anybody," Ellen tells TV Guide.

Following last week’s shocking American Idol finale where Kris Allen was crowned the champion of season eight, the New York Times reports that one of the show’s corporate sponsors, AT&T, may have given the winner an unfair advantage.

Are there boundaries to declaring the next "American Idol" champ early? Apparently, nothing can contain the likes of Adam Lambert — not even a difficult new ballad co-written by Kara DioGuardi.
Simon Cowell all but crowned the California glam rocker the winner of Tuesday night's final performance show over Kris Allen, the acoustic guitar player who struggled mightily to stay in tune on "No Boundaries," co-written by the fourth "Idol" judge.
Lambert had no such trouble with the upper-register pop ballad, and Cowell said he genuinely believed the show had found a true star in the 27-year-old theater actor.

NEW YORK – Before "American Idol" took over Adam Lambert's life, there was "Wicked," not to mention "The Ten Commandments" — yes, a musical version of the sand-and-sandals biblical epic.
The 27-year-old favorite to take the "Idol" crown next Wednesday had a professional musical-theater background before he ever sang for Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and the rest of the show's judges.

Anderson Cooper's CNN show AC360 used to be required TV
viewing for me—a chance to spend an hour gazing into the silver fox's
gorgeous blue eyes while listening to him pose intelligent, challenging
questions to the newsmakers of the day. But I have to admit that I
haven't tuned into the show regularly now for months, and I'm not the
only one who has tuned out.

Some good news for fans of Will & Grace craving a little quality time with Will, Grace, Jack and Karen (and let's not forget Rosario!): Lionsgate is releasing two Best Of DVDs—Will & Grace: Best of Love & Marriage and Will & Grace: Best of Friends & Foes—on May 5.
Each two-DVD collectors' set features 16 episodes. While the Love & Marriage set includes Jack's green-card marriage to Rosario, which is one of my all-time favorite episodes, Friends & Foes is made up of episodes featuring famous guest stars like Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Madonna.

Gale Harold reprises his role as Susan's painter beau Jackson on the May 3 episode of Desperate Housewives, but will he be around for long?
"It remains to be seen whether Jackson will be around for the season finale," Gale tells TVGuide.com, noting that Wisteria Lane isn't the safest place to be these days. "Anytime you've got somebody like Dave Williams walking up and down the street, you've got to be worried about everybody."

Oh "The Edies" of Grey Gardens -- those Bouvier-family black sheep, those crazy cat ladies, those hams of the famously haughty Hamptons. They were so hoity-toity and so law-dee-daw, mangy but magnificent, broken yet unsinkable -- and we just can't seem to get enough of them. Ridiculously glamorous, endearing, pathetic and prophetic -- they remain every drag queen's dream!
They mesmerized us in the enduring '70s "Grey Gardens" documentary, their lives (interpreted by Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson) brought us to our feet in the Tony Award-winning "Grey Gardens" Broadway musical, and now they're sparking new excitement in a biopic of the same name, premiering on HBO Saturday, April 18, and starring Oscar-winner actress Jessica Lange and America's reining sweetheart Drew Barrymore.
